How I Wear Floral Prints Year Round
Ever since I could remember, I had an obsession with floral print blouses. Although my style has definitely changed throughout the years, florals are one print I will always have in my closet. As much as I love sweater season and the darker hues of fall & winter style, I am still finding ways to incorporate florals into these seasons - without looking crazy!
Here are my tips for making your floral pieces work for multiple seasons:
CHOOSE NEUTRAL FLORAL PIECES
My definition of neutral floral pieces include those with softer colors. Soft pinks, creams, black, etc. This blouse is a perfect example. Play up & focus on a particular color in the print, - i.e. pairing it with white jeans in the Spring/Summer, or bringing out the darker colors of the print in the Fall/Winter with some knee-high black boots). This helps many pieces work throughout the year with a few minor changes to customize the look to the current season.
LAYERS ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND
Layering is probably the single best way to make your floral pieces work in multiple season scenarios. Chunky sweaters, cardigans, leggings & tights, shawls - these all add the cozy, warm element of fall & winter, even paired with a sleeveless floral top or floral print jeans you would typically wear in the spring.
GET CREATIVE AND ACCESSORIZE
To edge up my favorite bell-sleeved floral blouse and make it more season-appropriate, I paired it with 2 of my favorite fall/winter items = my moto jacket & velvet choker. I think this has become one of my favorite outfits! It's amazing what a pair of shoes, some statement pieces, and layering can do to transform your look.
